Okay, basically this is my first diary in my whole life of a humble teenager. =) Well, actually I wrote one just not so long ago, but I guess that one is like a memoir where I just described my impressions of a fresh immigrant. Furthermore that kind of a diary was written in my native language, which is Ukrainian. Now I would like to try myself in a role of an English-speaking blogger. I don't know how it will go, but it's interesting to see what I can do and what I can't.

Perhaps you will ask me: what is the sense of all of this? Well, maybe there isn't any particular purpose. I observed some different blogs where people just expressed what they thought, and then the idea came to my mind: hey, why wouldn't I try to do something similar? And here I am writing all of this non-sense. =D

Hm, I guess you would ask: who is this dude? So, let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Max. Currently I live in Brooklyn, but I was born in a small town in Ukraine. Well, my family moved a lot, so I don't really know where my true home should be. I guess my life seem like a nomad's one. =D I am student in Brooklyn of CUNY where I study Computer Science. Actually I'm a second semester sophomore right now.

The kinds of music that I usually listen are pretty diverse. I like listening to rock, metal, trance, electronic and New Age music.

According to the New Age genre, my favorite artists are Jean-Michelle Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Kitaro, Cuzco, Enigma, Era. I know this kind of music may be considered old-fashioned, but I love it, especially in times when I need some relaxation and rest. Actually I was influenced by my dad to listen to this genre primarily because it was the music of his and later my childhoods. That's why the song "Magnetic Fields" by Jean-Michelle Jarre reminds me of my early childhood.

According to the metal genre, I like power, symphonic and gothic metal. For example, my favorite metal bands are Nightwish, Within Temptation, Sonata Arctica... Actually I was very curious to test my musical tastes whether I like this type of music or not. So, the first metal band that I tried was a Finnish one, which is Nightwish. I really loved it and now it is one of my most favorite bands. Tarja Turunen's voice is indeed charming. Additionally, their music is very beautiful. Thus, the band is amazing.

Well, to diverse my musical tastes more I also listen to some rock bands and some trance and dance DJs. For instance, my favorite DJ is Tiesto, whose music is even more than cool in the realm of trance.

Furthermore, of course I love some of my native Ukrainian bands that sing in the Ukrainian language. For example, I like Tartak, Skryabin, TNMK, Flit, etc... They have both some funny and lyrical songs. Additionally, they are really cool because our language is very musical and poetical.

Update:: I forgot to add that I also like classic and progressive rock. So, this is just to give you an impression that I am not only into heavy kinds of rock music.
As for now my most favorite bands are Metallica and Pink Floyd.
